2009 Arnold World Championships in Columbus, Ohio
On March 7, 2009, the SCMA Team competed in the 2009 Arnold World Championships in Columbus, Ohio. The event was organized and run by the North American Grappling Association, or NAGA. The event had over 1400 competitors, and the 21 member SCMA Team had 17 medalists. SCMA competed under the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association banner, which placed 3rd overall and 2nd in the Gi Division. SCMA scored enough medals that it would have placed 3rd in the Gi Division by itself.
